 I was referred to see Amanda Nassif by my family doctor after going through a rocky road at home with my husband. My doctor believed that Amanda would be able to help me with some of the issues that I needed to discuss. I found Amanda very helpful. She made me feel comfortable when talking to her. Her voice was very soothing and when I had visited Amanda on Wednesdays I felt a lot better. We practiced relaxation techniques which were very useful and I still practice these when I am not feeling very well. I started to see Amanda Nassif ( psychologist) in July 2010 because I was feeling very unhappy and stressed with the direction my life was taking both at work and in my personal life. Before seeing Amanda I felt weighed down by demands of a difficult job and a relationship that was in serious trouble. I was frustrated by both situations and my inability to know what to do to fix them. I felt powerless to effect change and felt caught in each situation. This in turn was reminding me of other times in my life where I had also felt caught and powerless to change anything. I was finding it difficult to sleep. The aim of seeing Amanda was to resolve and heal from some past traumas and to resolve my current problems to make my life now happier. In the time I have been seeing Amanda, her insight into the dynamics of my situation have helped me to clarify my thoughts about my problems. There were things that I could not see, as I was so involved in the situation, but that Amanda could and this enabled me to view my problems from a different perspective. Amanda gave me the opportunity to see the dynamics involved and how a situation ends up occurring. Being able to view the situation differently and seeing the parts that I and others played in it meant that I had more knowledge. And this empowered me to act differently and to change the end result. This knowledge has allowed me to take action that I previously would not have considered. And to know and feel within myself that it was the right course to take, although it has not always been the easiest option. Amanda has always been honest with me regarding the choices I have made and the action I have taken when she perceives that I am not acting in my own best interest, that is resolving issues in a way that will make my life happier. She has been honest in explaining to me how and why she considers the course of action I have taken will not help me attain my goal of being happier in my life.
It is very important for me to say at this point, that Amanda and her knowledge and insight has increased my knowledge and understanding of my situations both at work and in my personal life. And that I feel that Amanda has supported and empowered me to make different and sometimes difficultdecisions that I believe are right for me. These decisions are mine, and no one else's. Amanda uses a variety of techniques to help me to heal. These together with her positive reinforcement of positive qualities that she perceives in me and positive actions that I have taken, has helped me to feel confident enough to make life changing decisions. In the time that I have been seeing Amanda, with her assistance I have made some very positive changes to my life. My thinking about situations is clearer and my ability to choose whether to act and if so what action to take has improved immensely. I can see more clearly how my actions in the past have contributed to problems and how by taking different actions I have started to resolve the problem. And although some of the decisions I have made have been very hard to make.
Having the support of Amanda has been the difference between being able to act to make my life better, which I was previously unable to do or reacting in the same way to the situation and not
seeing anything change. In spite of, or perhaps because of dealing with situations that were stressing me and causing unhappiness in my life I have been able to stop smoking. This was something that I had previously tried to do many times using various quit smoking aids with no success. At this point I have been a non smoker for the longest period of my life since I started smoking. I have to say that on the whole I am feeling much calmer, at peace and happier than I did before I started seeing Amanda. For me finding a psychologist who is proactive and dynamic and most of all who I could trust and work well with has been a very important part of changing my life for the better.

I saw Amanda in August 2010 after suffering from chronic pain and I must say I liked her from the first time I met her.
